Match report Rules for U9's pairs cricket mean there's always two scores. The kids face a fixed number of overs (4 I think) and if they are out they lose 4 runs and change ends, thus a 10 run loss becomes a 2 run loss (net) as Pledwick lost 9 wickets (-36 runs) compared with Brodsworths 7 wicket (-28 runs).
It also means the kids can be out more than once, and to even numbers up, may bat more than once occasionally (ie Elliot in this game).
Rules for friendlies are 'flexible' to give all the kids a good game.
