Batted first, just didn't get enough runs! Despite a decent opening partnership from father and son 'The Bagnalls'. Jack 12 and Martin 20. A reasonable 21 from Danny Kelloch and a truly swashbuckling 35 from Ellis Robinson which included 4 x big sixes from the 1st four balls of the Shirebrook spinner! Ouch!
We fielded like trojans up to the drinks break limiting Shirebrook to 40 odd off 22 overs. But we needed to keep that up to get a unlikely win! Unfortunately we ran out of steam and ultimately Shirebrook won convincingly! Some decent bowling from Juniors in this match Ruddy 1 wicket for 10 runs off his 5 overs. Elbo 15 runs from his 4 overs. No1 bowler was the luckless Dean Somerville 0 for 25 from 11.
At least we are competetive this season. The team are starting to reflect the enthusiasm of the Vice Capt(now Capt due to the absence of Tino Parf)  Martin Bagnall and the Stand in vice Mick Rog senior. We just need to keep going and believe we can win!!
Our third team had five juniors and a couple of geriatrics playing today. We need to make sure we don't lose sight of the fact this team is to bring on the youngsters and particularly the u15's who will become our CLUB cricketers in future years!
