The 4th X1 shared 3 points with Darfield CC in unfortunate circumstances. Broddy posted our highest total of the year 193 for 7 off our forty overs. A good knock from Big Al (63), looks like he's coming into a bit of form. Excellent contributions from Michael Burns 39 not out and Maddo 31.
We didn't bowl particularly well and were going for over 5 per over when Darfield player R Wake launched an almighty six towards the pavillion. The ball bounced once onto the patio and into the bar through the open door. It hit a four month old baby. (at time of writing not sure how serious). The ambulance was called. As a mark of respect both captains and umpires decided to abandon the game and share the spoils. BMCC wish the baby a speedy recovery.
